Update 24 Jan 2022
Following the government’s latest announcement, the wearing of face coverings is no longer mandatory from Thursday 27 January 2022. However, the government suggests that people should continue to wear face coverings in crowded and indoor spaces where they may come into contact with people they do not normally meet. Also, from 27 January 2022, there is no longer a need to show your NHS COVID Pass at venues and events by law, however, the NHS COVID Pass can still be used on a voluntary basis.
NHS COVID Pass: From Thursday 27 January 2022, Your Leisure will no longer require customers and visitors to produce a valid NHS COVID pass for any events (which was previously required).
FACE COVERINGS: From Thursday 27 January 2022, while face coverings are no longer mandatory, Your Leisure does strongly advise customers and members to continue to wear face coverings in crowded and indoor spaces where possible, however, this will not prevent admission to our facilities.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) FAQs
Here are some FAQs relating to Coronavirus (COVID-19). Last updated on 22 July 2021.
How will my ticket work?
Margate Winter Gardens & Theatre Royal Margate offer a print-at-home ticket option. This will allow you to enter our venues more easily, minimise the amount of time you may have to queue, and reduce contact with the front of house team.
What happens if a show has been rescheduled?
If you have a ticket for a show that has been rescheduled, hang on to your ticket – it will be valid for the new date. If you cannot make the new date you will be able to claim a credit onto your customer account. This credit can be used to purchase tickets in the future and has no expiry date.
Will I need to wear a face covering?
In line with government guidance with regards to face covering indoors, we strongly recommend that you continue to wear face coverings out of respect for fellow audience members and our companies when coming into our theatres and especially when moving around the theatre. If you are exempt from wearing a face covering it would help our front of house staff and fellow audience members if you wear an exemption lanyard which can be downloaded here.
What should I bring?
Please keep your belongings to a minimum and with you at all times. This will assist with bag checks, and it may not be possible to open the cloakroom facilities for each show or event.
Will I be able to buy interval refreshments?
Please check if it is possible to pre-order your interval drinks and ice creams to minimise contact with others. Transactions will usually be cashless and paperless, and there may be one way systems in place.
What are the social distancing rules?
As of 19 July, theatre’s will be able to open at full capacity so you will be sitting next to other people.
Theatres will continue to ask you to maintain a safe social distance where possible when queuing to take your seats and moving around the theatre. You may need to pass someone to take your seat in a row – to mitigate risk we recommend wearing your face covering while moving around the theatre.
There are certain seating areas, such as sitting in a box, that will naturally continue to be a socially distanced option. To find out about such seats we recommend contacting the box office directly for the show you wish to attend.
What else are our theatres doing?
Margate Winter Gardens & Theatre Royal Margate will be offering enhanced cleaning and regularly disinfecting. Some routes may have changed in order to minimise your contact with others, so the helpful staff at the theatre will guide you.
Please use the hand sanitiser stations when you enter and exit the theatre.
Following the performance, Stage Door activities such as photographs with the performers or autograph signing may be restricted.
What happens if I have Covid and can’t use my ticket?
Theatres will be ensuring that you have maximum flexibility by allowing tickets to be exchanged up to 24 hours prior to the performance – so if someone in your party is confirmed as Covid positive or has symptoms, there is no need to worry. Please make sure to check with the venue you are attending. You can email boxoffice@yourleisure.uk.com
How do I stay up-to-date?
Any changes to a performance will be made via the specific venue’s Facebook page and major changes – such as cancellations, postponements etc. – will be communicated directly with customers via email and/or phone.
