Jack and the Beanstalk

T’was on a summer’s afternoon. Two Bobbies on the beat, were overcome by the heat.
While one sat and slowly pondered, as the other thought and then he wondered.
“What can we do to pass the time? I know, let’s write a pantomime.
“Oh no we can’t.  Oh yes we can.
We can’t. We can’t. We can’t!”
Oh it would appear they could!

When that panto was all done, it was time to write another one.
Twenty-Two years had passed,
Wor Al he felt quite drained “Let someone new take up the reigns, so I can rest my little brain”
So I took up  the challenge, and wrote a pantomime, about a boy who had to climb,
Up to the sky to rescue his one true love, Trapped in a castle high in the clouds above.
Along the way, we meet Simon and Billy. And three plods who are all rather silly
Snitch and Snatch will cause confusion, a beautiful fairy, creating magic,  and illusion!!!
Horrid Fleshcreep will plan to spoil, this panto tale back at the Theatre Royal
Gold to beans, rags to riches. Our performance will have you all in stitches
With plenty of gags, (Some pretty cheesy) Rhyming the words, well that’s never easy!

But due to the pandemic of corona virus. Our audiences sadly could not join us,
for some half term cheer and family fun, no money to raise, we all felt quite numb.
Not learnt our lines or been given a part. Beginning to end, or ending to start.
No slapstick scene, or terrible jokes, from our panto dame, (ssshh! its really a bloke!)
No shouts or cheers from the girls and boys. Nor hisses or boo’s there was no noise
No pantomime cow to cause such laughter. So it won’t be a happily ever after
Behind the scenes there’s nothing to do. Our SM Phil has no one to cue.
No Ushers to show you to your seats. Nor bar staff to sell your drinks and treats
No music played from a live band. Or the girls from Masque to lend a hand.
Our make up girls had no one to pamper. Brushes and pallets all locked in their hampers
No costumes to sew, or scenery to make. Instead we were forced to take a  long break…
But now we’re back, uncuffed and free. So order your tickets and you will see.

Kent Police, boys and girls in blue. Back on the stage to entertain you.
So book today and avoid arrest. Jack and the Beanstalk will be simply the best
