Shakespeare on the Beach – Othello

Changeling Theatre is delighted to present William Shakespeare’s Othello on Margate Beach this July, marking the company’s 21st year of touring.

O, beware, my lord, of jealousy: it is the green-eyed monster which doth mock the meat it feeds on.

Othello has it all. A recently married man of rank, he has enjoyed a glittering military career and has a successful future ahead of him.
But Othello has enemies. Enemies that will do anything to bring him down. One of them, Iago, devises a sinister plot to undermine Othello’s reputation, tricking him into a jealous rage that ends in tragedy.
Love, jealousy, deception, murder. Othello is an edge-of-the-seat thriller. Changeling’s production promises to fizz with passion, intrigue and dark humour.

Who needs Scandi noir when you’ve got Shakespeare?

This show takes place on Margate Beach, opposite the clock tower.
This year, the cost of deckchair hire is INCLUDED in the ticket price, so no need to bring your own chairs.
Deckchairs will be laid out in advance for customers to go directly to their seats. Seating is unreserved.
Food and drink will not be available to purchase but customers are welcome to bring their own refreshments. Please be considerate of other audience members when consuming.

This show takes place outside so please check the weather forecast and come prepared!

If a performance has to be cancelled before curtain-up due to bad weather, tickets will be refunded. Tickets are non-refundable once the show has started.
